چکیده

Background: In-hospital mortality for patients presenting with acute pulmonary embolism (PE) has been reported to be up 7 times higher decreased estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR). Cardiopulmonary diseases and anemia are other comorbid conditions that suggested prognostic parameters in PE. The severity of PE was associated worsening survival. We aimed investigate the effect on association renal function prognosis disease Patients/Methods: retrospective study enrolled 112 consecutive objectively confirmed Demographic, clinical data, comorbidities laboratory values were recorded. GFR using chronic kidney (CKD)-EPI equations. Simplified index (sPESI) calculated all severe form defined as sPESI ≥1. In hospital primer outcome. Results: univariate analyses, age, eGFR, lung found significantly in-hospital severity. Only age eGFR significant factors early [1.13(1.03-1.24); p=0.007 0.95(0.91 0.98); respectively]. Conclusion: Estimated is independently a more increased risk rates within 30 days independent presence.

The Pulmonary Embolism Severity Index in Predicting the Prognosis of Patients With Pulmonary Embolism

BACKGROUND/AIMS Many prognostic models have been developed to help physicians make medical decisions on treating patients with pulmonary embolism. Among these models, the Pulmonary Embolism Severity Index (PESI) has been shown to be a successful risk stratification tool for patients with acute pulmonary embolism. The PESI, however, had not been applied to patients with pulmonary embolism in Kor...

The Lipid Profile Parameter in Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Patients and Correlation with Severity of Disease

Introduction: More than 90% of the deaths caused by chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) occur in the low- and middle -income countries. The main aim of this study was to investigate the lipid profile levels in COPD patients and examine the correlation of total cholesterol, triglycerides, low-density lipoproteins, high density lipoproteins, and LDL/HDL risk ratio with COPD stages that a...

BACKGROUND To assess the influence of electrocardiographic (ECG) pattern on prognosis and complications of patients hospitalized with acute pulmonary embolism (APE). METHODS We performed a retrospective analysis of 292 patients who had confirmed APE. There were 183 females and 109 males, the age range was 17 to 89 years, and the mean age was 65.4 ± 15.5 years. RESULTS In our study group, th...
